Mission & Focus

Stan French, from North Bay, Ontario, is a musician and former mental‑health nurse who uses his original music to support charities connected with Project Lifesaver—a locating service aiding vulnerable individuals such as those with autism or dementia. He donates all music royalties to local organizations like One Kids Place, Alzheimer Society (North Bay/Sudbury), and the VON SMILE program.

About Stan & His Band

  • Stan is a retired nurse and reservist who served in Afghanistan, also acting as president and chief pilot with BAYSAR Air Search & Rescue
  • He began composing in the 1970s, most notably a concert march titled “UNITY”, premiered at Roy Thomson Hall in 1998, performed by the Central Band of the Canadian Armed Forces
  • He re-entered music post-retirement, co-wrote and recorded “Being a Boomer Ain’t Bad” in 2023 with volunteers and local musicians—including the North Bay Boomers—raising funds for charity

Music

The site features featured works:

  • UNITY (Concert March) – downloadable PDF sheet music (high school and original versions) available for donors ($100+ CDN)
  • The Athlete (Processional March) – a programmatic piece with PDF downloads also tied to donations
  • Being a Boomer Ain’t Bad – whimsical music video produced by volunteers, fully donation-supported

Donate

  • Users are encouraged to donate directly to the preferred local charities.
  • Donations of $100+ grant access to full band scores of “UNITY” or “The Athlete.”
  • There are links and guidance to donate to Project Lifesaver agencies beyond BAYSAR, and instructions to earmark funds properly (e.g. designate “Stan French and Project Lifesaver”)
