This is coming after his semi-final placing in the International Songwriting Competition in the Comedy/Novelty category with his first song, ‘Being a Boomer Ain’t Bad.’,
While his first release was of a light nature this second release is not lighter fare. French says, “Don’t expect to be laughing or smiling after listening to ‘WAR, The moral Wounds’. If my first song was whimsical comedy, this song is tragedy that has been described as ‘haunting’ and ‘powerful”’ It’s an anti-war song with lyrics written from the perspective of a deployed pilot writing home to his wife. As the title infers, the pilot undergoes an internal conflict as his core values are challenged by his knowledge of the destruction his bombing missions have caused.”
The song will be released on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music; and the music video will be available on French’s YouTube channel and his website, stanfrench.org.
French will be donating all his proceeds from his royalties to One Kids Place, the Alzheimer’s Society, and the Victorian Order of Nurses SMILE program. These are all charities that refer clients to BAYSAR and support families needing Project Lifesaver. The website stanfrench.org will also encourage visitors to make direct donations to these charities.
Project Lifesaver, as provided by BAYSAR Air Search and Rescue, continues to be a great success for the North Bay Police Service and the OPP Detachments of North Bay and Nipissing West. Project Lifesaver is a valuable tool for police to help keep vulnerable persons safe. Events like the May 28th launch will continue to have an impact by increasing awareness about Project Lifesaver.
Visitors to French’s website will also be able to make direct donations to One Kids Place, the Alzheimer Society, or the VON SMILE program to support Project Lifesaver. For website visitors from outside of the North Bay area, Stan has offered some options to donate to charities that support Project Lifesaver, or to volunteer search and rescue organizations.
The liner notes and lyrics of ‘WAR, The moral Wounds’ will be published on Stan’s website and posted on his Facebook page on May 27 at 4 p.m the public will be able to read the history and meaning behind the song and video prior to the launch.
