Project Lifesaver SAREX with OPP -Sept 14, 2022

During the afternoon (Sept 14th, 2002) the newly trained OPP officers participated in a search and rescue exercise (SAREX) organized by BAYSAR. Volunteers with BAYSAR acted as missing persons in three scenarios of increasing difficulty. BAYSAR instructors assisted the OPP during the SAREX. In the final, most difficult scenario, BAYSAR supplied a helicopter and aircrew to assist the ground teams with an electronic search. The joint air and ground search was a total success with our target volunteer being found over six kilometres away from the start point of the search
